CELJE
size: 24 x 32 cm, 176 pages,
139 photographs, hard-binding, dust jacket An old town, situated on the left
bank of the Savinja river, known as the town of the Counts of Celje,
the pearl on the Savinja, a town of trade and tradition - many more
attributes could be used to describe this town. Its historical importance
goes back to the Celtic times and it has been more or less in the centre
of attention until today. However, it is best known from the period
of the Counts of Celje and for their influence on life, not only in
the vicinity of Celje but also in the lands which would nowadays not
be within the borders of Slovenia.
